Panthers Sign Aleksander Barkov To New Deal

The Panthers have signed starting center Aleksander Barkov to a six-year extension.

The extension is worth an average of $5.9 million per season, a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Barkov is third on the Atlantic Division-leading Panthers in scoring, with 12 goals and 18 assists in 38 games this season.

Kings, Anze Kopitar Agree To New Eight-Year Deal

The Kings and forward Anze Kopitar have agreed to terms on an 8-year contract extension, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The extension begins at the start of the 2016-17 season and culminates at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
 
Kopitar, 28, has spent his entire NHL career with the Kings after the club selected him in the first-round (11th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.  In 725 regular season games he has 645 points, while in 70 postseason games he has 60 points en route to two Stanley Cups.

Blackhawks Sign Joel Quenneville To Three-Year Extension

The Blackhawks signed head coach Joel Quenneville to a three-year extension through the 2019-20 season, the team announced Tuesday.

Quenneville, who has led the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships, has a 343-168-69 record during his tenure in Chicago, which is now in its eighth season.

Coach Gerard Gallant Agrees To New Deal With Panthers

The Panthers and head coach Gerard Gallant have agreed on a multiyear contract extension, the team announced Saturday.

"He has done an excellent job of creating a winning culture and developing young players in his time with the Panthers," general manager Dale Tallon said in a release. "He is an ideal fit for our group and we look forward to having him lead our team as we work towards our goal of winning the Stanley Cup."
